Choice of Games: 25% Royalties or Up to $10,000 for Interactive Stories

ChoiceofGames.com, the creators of the famous Choice of the Dragon and Choice of Broadsides, is looking for freelance authors to write interactive multiple-choice games stories for their platform. They pay 25% royalties to most authors. For established authors who have previously written for their platform, they may pay $500 for your accepted outline plus royalties, or fixed payments totaling $10,000.

Choice of Games LLC is a company located in California that creates and publish interactive text-based games where the reader can choose which path they take in the storyline. Their games can be played online or downloaded through Steam, Google play, Amazon Kindle, and iTunes.

They accept genres such as humor, mystery, horror, adventure, action, and romance.  In order to get an idea of what they publish, play a few of their text-based games on both their “Hosted” and “Our Games” platforms.

There are two platforms where they will publish your story. The first is “Hosted Games” label which they will pay a 25% royalty and you’ll retain full IP rights on your games. The second platform is for established writers called “Choice of Games” or “Our Games,” where they will pay you either 25% royalty or a series of payments that eventually add up to $10,000 for your full story

According to their website:

“If you’re interested in writing a game under the CoG or HoG label, please email us your CV to cog-submissions@choiceofgames.com; if we decide to move forward, we’ll ask you to send us some game ideas. And if we like one of your concepts, we’ll invite you to turn it into a full outline for a multiple-choice game”
