The i Paper is a British national newspaper. They have a freelance editor currently commissioning pieces. They are”editing for @theipaper travel desk and looking for specific first person stories: first up, emotive lifestyle/relationship pieces with the context of a foreign holiday. They also want “first person travel [stories that “that tap into destinations experiencing the push and pull of immigration/digital nomads/housing crises.” Payment reports indicate that they pay up to £200-250 depending on the type and length of the piece. Time Out UK / London is Looking to Commission Features

Time Out is a guide to the best music, film, art, food, hotels, attractions, and things to do in the greatest cities of the world. Their UK Features Editor is commissioning a few features for Time Out UK / London: “Looking to commission a few features this month for Time Out UK / London. Business Insider’s lifestyle/entertainment editor is seeking pitches from travel experts: “I’m looking for pitches from travel experts! Thinking people who have:

Edutopia provides information on what works in pre-K to 12 education. Unbias the News is an all-women feminist newsroom. They’re seeking pitches for their new project, The Democracy Playbook. They’re seeking “stories from around the world of movements / communities that brought people together to fight for their democracies.” They pay €500 per reported article, per person. GameSpot is Looking for Commerce Writers

GameSpot is a consumer-focused games website. Their commerce managing editor is adding new commerce writers to their team. They’re seeking contributors who have experience writing gaming, technology, and/or entertainment commerce stories (e.g. deals and preorder/buying guides). Quick deals stories (ranging from 30 minutes to an hour) will begin at $30. Most of the assignments will pay $30 to $100 per story, but recommendation lists will pay $200 to $350. Briarpatch is a Canadian magazine of politics and culture. They’re accepting pitches for their unthemed September/October issue. If you’re “eager to share a juicy piece of labour history or investigate a suspicious institution,” then send them your pitches at pitch@briarpatchmagazine.com. They pay $150 for profiles, short essays, reviews, and parting shots (typically 1,500 words or less); $250 for feature stories (usually 1,500 to 2,000 words) and photo essays; and $350 for research-based articles and investigative reporting (usually 2,000 to 2,500 words).
