EVENT Magazine: Up to $500 for Short Stories

Canadian literary journal, EVENT Magazine recently removed their submission fee for short stories. They pay $30 a page for stories, creative nonfiction, and poetry, up to $500 (CAD).

In addition to short stories, they publish poetry, essays, and book reviews.

According to their website:

“At EVENT, we publish both new and established authors, and are keen to uncover new talent. EVENT has published exciting work by authors who have gone on to become literary icons. Our mission is to stoke the flames of the Canadian literary community while upholding our outstanding literary reputation.”

Submissions should be no more than 5,000 words. Please submit just one story at a time.
