OpenDemocracy is a global media organization that covers world affairs, ideas, and culture. They are looking for:

• A News and Features Editor who has a minimum of 5 years of experience working in “editing, subediting or news production” and has spent a minimum of 1 year in a comparable position. This job is full-time and can be remote or based in their London office. Salary: UK based – £42,000 to £47,000 / Global – benchmarked to local rates. 
• Subeditors with a minimum of 3 years of experience. This job can be remote or based in their London office. Contract: full-time or part-time / freelance or contract (to be negotiated). Salary: UK based – £170 to £200 per day / Global – benchmarked to local rates.

The Canadian Encyclopedia is a bilingual online resource on Canada’s history and culture. They are hiring for the position of Bilingual Subject Editor, Communities. The successful candidate will “oversee the update of articles and the creation of new articles related to diverse communities in Canada, in both French and English.” This is a contract position that will begin on September 1, 2020 and end on March 31, 2021. Gal-dem is a print and online publication that shares the perspectives of women and non-binary people of color. They are looking for an Opinions and Personal Essay Editor who will commission, edit, write, and publish the majority of first-person content across their site. The applicant should have at least 3 years’ experience working within journalism. The applicant should be eligible to work within the UK. This is a full-time, fixed term (6 months) position with the possibility of extension. The position is remote (subject to change). Starting salary is £26,000 pro rata.
