Contingent Magazine is Opening for Pitches
Contingent Magazine is a history magazine. They’re opening for pitches in early 2024. They’re seeking pitches for shorts (800-1,500 words), field trips, mailbags (400-500 words), postcards, mini-essays (200-500 words), and reviews of books, exhibits, documentaries, etc. (1,000-1,500 words). Ride Texas Magazine is Accepting Pitches
Ride Texas Magazine is a quarterly print and digital travel magazine for Texas’ motorcyclists. They’re open for pitches for their Spring issue. The issue will feature “the total solar eclipse, related events, and Texas Hill Country lodging.” They’re especially seeking “unbiased gear reviews, restaurant reviews, and motorcycle industry trends.” Rates are $125 to $400 for print articles and $75 for blogs (500 to 700 words). Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights) offers cheap flight deals. Their content marketing director is seeking “a writer with a personal connection to Lunar New Year for an assignment on what the holiday means to them, their traditions, and events around the world.” They’re looking to assign this piece as soon as possible. The Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ) is a nonprofit print and digital magazine that educates the nonprofit sector through research-based articles and resources. They’re looking for pieces (around 500 words) for their new column, We Stood Up. The column features “the voices of people doing the hard work of realizing economic justice in their workplace.” They invite “writing from workers who want to share their experiences building a democratic economy and a fairer world, so that others can learn from their efforts.” Pay is $300. The National Forest Foundation is an organization that restores and enhances National Forests and Grasslands. They’re seeking story pitches for their Summer/Fall issue of Light & Seed magazine.
