In These Times is Seeking Culture Pitches and Drafts
In These Times is a progressive magazine and website committed to covering and analyzing popular movements for economic, environmental, social, gender, and racial justice. They’re seeking culture pitches and draft submissions that “explore race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, class, disabilities, capitalism and/or climate, etc. and its impact on our lives.” They consider essays, personal essays, short stories, photo essays, poetry, graphic literature, comics, and Q&As. They consider contributions from writers of all backgrounds, and are especially excited to promote Palestinian, Congolese, Sudanese, immigrant, BIPOC, and trans voices. IJNet is Accepting Pitches
International Journalists’ Network (IJNet) offers the latest tips, training opportunities, trends, and tools for professional and emerging journalists. If you know of any journalism tool, application or resource that they haven’t covered, then send them your pitches. They pay freelancers $200 per article. New Internationalist is Accepting Pitches
New Internationalist is a bi-monthly magazine and a website that reports on global social and environmental justice and equality. Their newly appointed digital editor will be commissioning stories on “social justice, global inequality, the environment, feminism, tech politics and much, much more.” Their articles are generally 800 to 2,000 words in length and pay 0.27p a word. Rest of World is a global nonprofit publication that covers technology’s impact beyond the Western bubble. Their features director is seeking pitches for stories on: AI, electric vehicles, and the impact of Silicon Valley outside the West.
