Southlands is a new print journal exploring “the diverse ways Southerners connect with the natural world.” They’re looking for pitches for their debut issue. Business Insider covers business, personal finance, tech, lifestyle, politics, and more. Their editor is seeking feel-good essays about parenting, relationships, career, and life: “Did someone help you out when your toddler was having an epic tantrum? Did you fall in love like in the movies? Did you change careers and find your passion? Words of Mouth is Looking for Pitches

Words of Mouth is “a weekly newsletter sharing opportunities for professional and creative development across design, the arts, education, information, and the built environment.” They’re putting together an anthology to mark 10 years of the newsletter. The anthology will explore “the activity of looking for work through essays, interviews, and other text-based or visual ruminations.” They’re accepting pitches for this anthology and paying $350 per contribution. Popverse is a modern entertainment brand that covers TV, movies, comics, creators, and conventions. Public Books’ Higher Ed Editor is Looking for Pitches

Public Books is “an online magazine of ideas, arts, and scholarship.” Their higher ed editor is seeking pitches: “If you have something to get off your chest about higher ed, pitch me. Not looking for quick takes, but thoughtful scholarship and commentary that makes sense of our moment.” They’re also always seeking book reviews. The Leicester Gazette is a not-for-profit local newspaper in Leicester. They’re always accepting pitches.
