Darklight Digital is Looking for Pitches

Darklight Digital is an online platform featuring fresh voices in photography culture. They’re accepting pitches from both new and established writers at india@darklight-art.com. Rates begin at £125. Read their post here. Download their pitch guide here.

Food for the Worm is Looking for Essays about U.S. Horror Films

Food for the Worm is “an irregular essay series about U.S. horror films and what they have to teach us about ourselves.” They’re open for pitches. They’re seeking “interesting essay ideas regarding U.S. horror films that come from books.” Rate is $250. Pitches should be sent to mailfortheworm@gmail.com. Rooted in Rights Blog is Open for Drafts and Pitches

Rooted in Rights Blog is a platform that amplifies the authentic perspectives of disabled writers. They’re open for drafts and pitches. They’re looking for “reported and investigative articles, op-eds, creative nonfiction, personal essays, interviews, and short fiction on disability, with an emphasis on disability rights and justice, written by people who identify as disabled.” They accept pitches and drafts from disabled writers from any country. Insider is Seeking Pitches from American or Japanese Parents

Insider’s senior editor is looking for an American parent who’s living in Japan or a Japanese parent who’s living in the US. They would love pitches on the cultural differences when it comes to postpartum, raising kids, and more. They will pay $250+ per article. Scalawag is a Black-led, woman-run website and magazine dedicated to the American South. They’re accepting pitches for their Haints of the Black South series. They want to “explore the things that still haunt the South, both in a literal and figurative sense.” “Alongside regional stories of haints and hauntings—from Appalachian apparitions to Gullah Geechee Boo hags and other folklore—we are also seeking critical and personal essays, poetry, short fiction, photography, video, and other multimedia exploring personal, historical, and spatial hauntings connected to and within the Black South.” Pay is $500 to $1,200 depending on the type of submission. Studio Magazine is a national publication about contemporary craft and design in Canada. They publish twice a year and have an ongoing web presence. They’re looking for submissions for their Spring/Summer 2024 issue: DEFINITION.
