Reader’s Digest UK is a general interest family magazine. Their editor-in-chief is looking for pitches from money and finance writers for Reader’s Digest UK online. They’re seeking unique and timely articles related to retirement, investment, property, and more. They’re especially interested in hearing from new writers that they haven’t published before. Authors Publish Magazine is currently seeking submissions of articles related to the craft of writing, promoting your work, genre specific articles, or case studies of traditional book publication. They just raised their rates as well, to $50 to $70 per article. To learn more, read their submission guidelines.
Positive News is a website and quarterly print magazine that reports on what’s going right. They welcome solution-focused ideas from journalists of color who are seeking new outlets. Klang Magazine is a sound publication. They’re seeking pitches for Season 2: “Send us your wildest ideas regarding the sonic arts or sound studies, can include DJ mixes, interviews, software betas, or something else that we haven’t even thought of yet!” Pay is $100 to $150. Today’s Parent is a community for modern parenting. They’re looking for 1 to 2 more regular commerce writers from the US and Canada. The writers should have shopping content experience. Artsy is a platform for collecting and discovering art. They’re seeking pitches for artist profiles (1,000 words); artist spotlights (400 words); museum show reviews (800 words); gallery show reviews (400 words); artist lists; and more. whynow is an online magazine and production studio that features stories from both emerging and established people in arts, music, and entertainment. They are open for pitches and are looking for “great features, interviews, stories, and reviews in music, art, film and TV.” They pay £80 to £150 for the majority of pieces. Rest of World is a global nonprofit publication that covers technology’s impact beyond the Western bubble. Their China editor is seeking pitches related to:
- “Generative AI and its impact (from labor to regulation, to misinformation)”
- “China tech’s long-tail (the influence of Chinese tech in SEA, SA, Africa & beyond)”

Cosmopolitan is a women’s magazine for dating tips, sex advice, beauty tutorials, fashion trends, and celebrity news. Their features director is looking for audacious reads for their summer and fall issues: “investigative scoops, wild capers, subcultural odysseys—all fascinating proposals welcome.” Target word count is 2,000-3,000 words. BuzzFeed News is a news website by BuzzFeed. Their tech desk editor is seeking smart, ambitious pitches for their tech section. Rates are $0.33/word for essays and $0.50/word for reported pieces. Study Hall is an online publication and community for media workers. They’re seeking guest Digest writers for their weekly newsletter. The Digest “focuses on major news stories in the media world and should feel something like reading the opening few pages of a magazine — fun, informative, quick-reading, and of-the-moment without being too overtly news-y.” Rate is $750 per Digest. Guardian Australia is always seeking new people in the bush who have a story to tell. They’re especially looking for sports writers and ag/science writers located in country Victoria. As per their freelance charter, they pay $700 AUD per 1,000 words for commissioned news and features, $300 AUD for opinion pieces, and $300 AUD for TV/movie/theatre/sport reviews. Lonely Planet offers travel guides and information. They’re seeking to expand their list of expert contributors in a number of countries in southern Africa, particularly “Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia & Zimbabwe.” They want writers who are living in the country or have traveled it extensively in the past 18 months.
