Planetizen is “a fiercely independent platform that creates, curates, and amplifies stories and resources to inform planning and people passionate about planning.” They’re always accepting feature article pitches that offer an expert lens to the key planning issues of today. Digital Frontier magazine is “a physical manifestation of the biggest forces impacting the digital world.” Their editor is seeking feature pitches for issue 003. The theme of the issue is Curiosity. Prospect is a British magazine and website covering politics, economics, finance, culture, philosophy, world affairs, and more. Their newly appointed commissioning editor is looking for essays and narrative features of up to 4,000 words. The Nonprofit Quarterly is Seeking Pitches for the Health Justice Issue

The Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ) is a nonprofit print and digital magazine that educates the nonprofit sector through research-based articles and resources. They’re looking for pitches for their Health Justice Issue. They want “articles written by movement leaders and practitioners in the field that lay out the current state of health innovations, concerns of those working in the field of health, and visions for a socially just, ethical, and responsible direction forward.” Creative approaches to these topics are also welcome. The Dial is Accepting Pitches

The Dial is “a new online magazine of culture, politics, and ideas with a focus on locally sourced writing from around the world.” They focus on stories from outside the US. They’re currently accepting pitches for two issues which are coming out early next year: “Bodies” and “Ghosts.” They interpret the themes broadly and also publish writing that doesn’t fit the themes. They welcome pitches for reporting, criticism, literature, and translation. Most of their features run about 2,000 to 3,000 words. Their general rate for reporting and criticism is $800 to $1,000 for 2,000 to 2,500 words. Their general rate for literary work is $250 for an excerpt and about $400 for unpublished work.
