Chicken Soup for the Soul just quietly announced calls for submissions to a forthcoming anthology on the topic of grief, loss, and recovery.
This is a chance to be part of a bestselling book. While it is quite competitive to get published in a Chicken Soup book, authors regularly report that it is a very positive experience.
According to their call for submissions:
This collection of emotional and inspirational stories will provide comfort and peace to those who have lost someone close to them. What helped you the most when you were grieving? Who were the people who helped you and what did they do? When did you know that you had finally “turned the corner” and were on the road to recovery? When and how did you realize there was light at the end of the tunnel? What are you doing to support others?
We hope that the true stories in this book will offer comfort and guidance to our readers and help ease the journey to healing. Please do not send us a biography about someone who has died.
They pay $200 per story or poem, as well as 10 contributor copies.
The deadline is currently August 31st, 2021. Keep in mind that they do change deadlines on occasion.
