The following is a list of seven anthologies and magazines currently seeking submissions of short stories. All of these magazines pay up to $240 per story, and sometimes much more.

1. Lost Worlds is a forthcoming anthology from Flametree Publishing. They want stories “

2. Supernatural Horror is another forthcoming anthology from Flametree Publishing. Accepted stories will be published alongside classic sotries from Edgar Allen Poe and M.R. James.
Length: 2,000-4,000 words

3. Time Travel is another forthcoming anthology from Flametree Publishing. According to their guidelines: “

4. Heroic Fantasy is another forthcoming anthology from Flametree Publishing. They want stories of “

5. Deep Magic aims to be the “dominant magazine for clean fantasy and sci-fi stories.” That means good clean stories – no sex, swearing, or graphic violence.
Length: 1,000 to 40,000 words.
Pay: 8 cents per word for the first 5k words, then 6 cents per word up to 16,000 words. 2 cents per word for reprints.
Deadline: Open ended.
6. Event Magazine is a Canadian literary magazine. They want “compelling characters, plots that surprise us, narratives that move us, stories that have something new to say.” They are currently accepting submissions of fiction and poetry.
Length: Up to 5,000 words
Pay: $25/page, up to $500
Deadline: Open ended.
7. Problem Daughters is a forthcoming anthology from Future Fire. They seek to “amplify the voices of women who are sometimes excluded from mainstream feminism.” They seeking “science fiction, fantasy, horror, alternate history, slipstream, or just plain weird.”
Length: Up to 7,500 Words
Pay: 6 cents per word
Deadline: March 31st, 2017
