Contingent Magazine is Seeking Pitches for Reviews
Contingent Magazine is a history magazine. They’re accepting pitches for reviews: “We publish book reviews but desperately want review pitches for history exhibits, podcasts, films, etc. If you can review it, then pitch it.” The base pay for reviews (1,000 to 1,500 words) is $250. STAT is “an anti-profit arts & culture zine made for the North West.” They’re seeking “weird, left-field, gonzo style journalism and stories based in the North West of England.” They currently offer £50 for anything over 500 words. Glamour UK is an online magazine for women. They cover beauty, fashion, entertainment, wellness, travel, and more. They’re looking to commission an autosexual writer for a first person feature. They haven’t mentioned the rates, but as per this post by their website director, they pay £200 for opinion pieces and £300 for more investigative pieces. Open Secrets is Looking for Personal Essays
Open Secrets is an online magazine that publishes memorable and revealing personal essays on the topics we are taught to keep “secret.” They’re looking for unpublished personal essays of 1,000 to 2,000 words. The essays can be about “work, relationships, parenting and family, health, grief, LGBTQIA+ life, finances, identity, and our relationship with our belongings.” Rate is $50 per essay.
